I think you need a panel of judges to review CPU trades. Because I look at these Brett Favre trades and I ask myself is there any chance in 1995 that the Green Bay Packers trade Brett Favre and my answer is almost always no. Maybe allow CPU trades for lesser talent to proceed along the current rules but when it comes to true legends you really need humans evaluating these trades. I can tell you with my struggles to find a franchise QB for my team, if I had a 25 year old Favre there is NO WAY I'd trade him for either of these packages.

I agree because if you allow these trades to process and it is accepted by the CPU, there will be a mad dash to pillage the CPU teams of all of their top shelf talent. It will only benefit the top teams too. Bottom feeders will not trade their first round picks. Someone picking at the end of the round however, you are basically giving up 3 80-85 overall players and an 80 overall QB for a franchise QB. If Favre were 33 I'd be okay with it, seems fair then. But he is just now entering his prime.
I think just making a simple rule that any player 85+ overall and under 29 years of age is off limits in CPU trades.

I like the age limit requirement but not the overall requirement. I think this is why a panel is needed though. A panel can do what the game AI and a rule cannot do. They can look at all the factors and weigh them. Maybe it makes sense to trade a player at a position the CPU has depth at for this package. Let's say the Patriots had an Aaron Rodgers/Brett Favre situation going on or a better example, Drew Brees and Phillip Rivers who were both under 30 at the time. It would make total sense to trade one for a package like this for the CPU and humans could assess that.
Humans can look at the contract situations, total roster make up, look at the future draft pools and assess the strength of them, etc... and make an informed decision. You'd need 8 total judges with a 3 man panel assessing each trade trying to take bias out of it.
A judge could not rule on a trade if:
1) He is involved in the trade
2) He is in the division of the CPU team
3) He is in the division of the Human team
To remove all conflicts of interest. Once you rule out any judges that are not conflicted out, you let either the remaining judges vote or you randomly appoint 3 judges who need to scrutinize the trade as if they were making it themselves as the CPU team.
Boy there are some real busy bodies in this league. Who made you two commisioner?
