I just wanted to say I enjoy this kind of stuff. The storyline. It doesn't hurt I really need a QB too and plan to  play big money games to get Favre in KC. But I do think it is neat to replay this kind of story and see how it plays out. Even if he doesn't end up a Chief.

The real issue IMO is the cornerback ratings. We seem to have a ton of 85+ overall CB. Same with RB. Not sure if they come into the league that way or develop that way. But we are flush with 85+ overall guys at both positions. Maybe dial back the ratings for draft players?

I agree there are ton of top end running backs. I look around and everyone has a 90 overall running back but me. Even the computer teams. I can't ever get one. Barry Sanders is out there still playing at 91 overall and 38 years old. 

Edit: I am not a football genius by any stretch. I watch it a lot. Never played past high school and never coached. But I truly believe my team fell from the superbowl the previous year to 5 wins last year all because of my loss of James Stewart. I probably should have unretired him. My inability to milk the clock and rest my defense killed. And always throwing into dime coverage on 3rd and long. The inability to run the ball (Jeff Blake was my leading rusher) just killed everything about my team. So the running game is vital!

I prefer this league to the baseball league honestly. It used to be the opposite. I enjoy the FA rules and the fact no one understands the game really well other than Houston. We have new champions and teams in the playoffs all of the time.

It sucks to build a team and then look at my roster and half of it is gone and I gotta rebuild. But it was also nice when I blew my team up and had nothing I was able to rebuild it. In baseball I have managed to win with the Marlins but it is so much harder. One mess up or player that goes bust can kill your odds of a world series for a decade. Meanwhile the top end teams just keep reloading.

I wish we could institute a cap in baseball but then it wouldn't be realistic. Then again, the Yankees are probably going to dominate no matter what we do. They have a ton of money but also the best GM hands down. He just may not win 126 games in a season and only 102.

I pretty much the first several seasons just tried to keep the team I had in 1988 together and replace them as they left. All built around randall cunningham.

When I had a chance to rebuild I pretty much decided I was going to be really good at one thing on offense and defense and try my best to be okay at the rest.

I decided I was going to run the ball better than anyone so I invested in all three types of backs. I invested in run blocking machines on the line. I didn't forget passing but it was secondary. If you can't help my running game I don't need you on offense no matter how good you are elsewhere.

I did the same with defense. Then I built my playbooks around it.

It worked! My run game was unstoppable last season and it kept me in close games, won enough to make the playoffs and won when it mattered.

Well, that suspense didn't last long. 12 mil per year for 2 years with a 5% bonus for a ring? Lord, blew my offer out of the water.

Favre is a chief. Note to self, next time KC says hes going big he's going big.

Potentially worth 28 million if he wins 2 rings for the Chiefs, for 2 years of work. Gotta be the biggest contract forked out in this league so far.

When it comes to both positions, it is absolutely the development engine. We've had very few RB's rated 90+ to start with and the ones that were deserved to be. There are guys I know for a fact I rated in the 70's that blew up to 95+ overall at RB.

The same with CB and WR. Then some positions seem to never develop. It would help if the game had a clearer development engine. There is no setting for it anywhere and no manual to tell you how it works. So, we just roll with it.

It is going to be interesting to see how Favre does with weapons. It isn't the best place he could have gone since the Chiefs are a run first offense but he will have a run game to support him, 3 good WR and one of the top TEs and a good line. He can't blame a lack of talent if he doesn't produce now.

I believe depth is underrrated in this game. I noticed that once I started filling out my roster with solid backups my team improved a lot. The backups play a lot in this game. I guess they do in the real nfl too at certain positions. Backups rb, wr, lb, cb see alot of action in the real nfl. I think you gotta be good and deep in this game otherwise the fatigue gets you.
