Twins Suffer One-Run Loss at Detroit
|
The Detroit Tigers dumped the Minnesota Twins, 5-4, in large part due to right fielder Bobby Abreu. On the day, Abreu was 2-3 with a home run and 2 walks, while scoring 2 times for the Tigers. Detroit pitcher Javier Vazquez got the win, upping his record to 9-1. Brad Radke got the loss. With the victory, the Tigers upped their record to 51-25.
Carlos Lee, who is tied for 6th in the AL in extra base hits with 43, helped out the Detroit cause in the bottom of the third inning with a run-scoring single. For the game, the third baseman went 2-4 with 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs.
"I was just going up there trying to see good pitches, that was about it," said Abreu.
