Marlins Heading to World Series

The joy and relief on the faces of the Florida Marlins players was obvious as they celebrated their League Championship Series win over the St. Louis Cardinals.
"In a series like this, the smallest thing can make the difference in how it turns out," said Florida third baseman Scott Rolen, shortly after the 12-7 win that clinched the series 4-3. "We're happy we did what it takes to get it done."
The team is now off to the World Series.
Rolen won series MVP honors on the strength of his .500 batting average during the series. He also had a .562 on-base percentage and 0 home runs, drove in 11 RBI and scored 4 runs.
The Florida Marlins will play against the Toronto Blue Jays in the next round. Toronto won their series against the Detroit Tigers 4 games to 3. The World Series schedule will be announced after the League Championship Series finishes.

Toronto Takes League Championship Series in Deciding Game

The Toronto Blue Jays and Detroit Tigers held nothing back in an entertaining League Championship Series that went the distance.
In the end, it will be Toronto advancing to the World Series, after a 11-3 triumph in the final game at Comerica Park, to wrap up the series 4-3.
The Blue Jays players celebrated jubilantly in their clubhouse after the game, while the scene was one of dismay on the opposing side for the Tigers.
Gabe Kapler was named series MVP for Toronto. For the series, Kapler hit .423 with a .500 on-base percentage. He had 0 home runs, drove in 5 RBI and scored 8 runs.
The Toronto Blue Jays don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the St. Louis Cardinals - Florida Marlins series. Florida leads the series 3 games to 2. The World Series schedule will be announced after the League Championship Series finishes.
