Devil Rays Beat Athletics, 7-2
|
Tampa Bay Devil Rays starter Mark Langston pitched his team past the Oakland Athletics, 7-2. At 54-88, the Devil Rays claim 4th place in the AL East Division.
In the bottom of the fifth, Tampa Bay shortstop Carlos Baerga had a productive at-bat. With the bases loaded and one out, Baerga stroked a 2-run single to center. It made the score 4-2, Tampa Bay. For the game, he went 1-3 with a hit by pitch. He scored 2 times and drove in 2.
