The Minnesota Twins picked up a win at Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome, dropping the Detroit Tigers, 4-3. Barry Zito, who is tied for 8th in the AL with a 7.4 K/9 rate, was the difference-maker. Minnesota reliever Eddie Guardado got the win, raising his record to 3-5. Mike Matthews was tagged with the loss. The first-place Tigers now sit at 103-55.

Jed Hansen was the walk-off hero for Minnesota. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Twins second baseman hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.

"Barry did a nice job," said Twins manager Shane Cummins.
