The inspired effort of Oakland first baseman Paul Lo Duca was not enough to prevent a loss, 7-6, to the Anaheim Angels. Lo Duca went 3-5 with 2 doubles, while scoring 2 times. Troy Percival earned the save for Anaheim, his 32nd of the year. The Angels, at 84-74, sit in second place in the AL West Division.

Anaheim took control in the bottom of the sixth. With two out and a runner on 3rd, Mike Cameron hit a run-scoring single to make it 7-6, Angels.

"Enjoyed this one," Cameron told the Anaheim News. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
