Home Loss Shrinks Rangers Series Lead to 2-1
|
Already down in the Division Series, the New York Yankees put on their best show, beating the Texas Rangers by a final score of 10-6. Mike Hampton was special. He threw 7.0 innings of 2-hit ball. New York now trails Texas 2-1 in the best-of-5 affair.
Roberto Kelly drew 1 walk in 4 plate appearances, while scoring 2 against the Rangers. With the game tied in the top of the eighth inning, he drew a walk, driving in 1 run that put New York in front, 7-6.
"It was offense that won us the game," said winning manager Sebastian Clause.
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at The Ballpark in Arlington in Texas.
