Seattle Win Evens Series at 1
|
The Seattle Mariners took down the Cleveland Indians by the score of 5-1 and moved into a 1-1 tie in the Division Series. The largest share of the credit belongs to Seattle starter Carl Pavano, who threw 6.2 innings of 4-hit ball.
With one out in the top of the sixth, Raul Mondesi barreled up a sinker from Jeff Suppan. The result was a 2-run home run, putting the Mariners in front, 3-0.
"I pretty much put my pitches where I wanted to," said Pavano.
The next game is set to be played for Friday, October 4th , 1996 at Kingdome in Seattle.
