Athletics Rally For Late Win Over Giants
Network Associates Coliseum was the site of a competitive game between the San Francisco Giants and Oakland Athletics.

Alex Ochoa knocked in 3 runs to help Oakland beat San Francisco, 4-2. The right fielder collected 1 single, 1 double, and 1 home run. The Athletics saw their win-loss record go to 39-50. At the same time, the Giants fell to 42-48.

The game was decided with no one out in the bottom of the ninth. With Oakland trailing 2-1, Ochoa jumped on a slider from 30-year old right-handed pitcher Rod Beck and hit a 3-run home run to right. With one swing, the Athletics had a walk-off win.

Ochoa called the win "a collective effort."
