Yankees Move on to League Championship Series
Many baseball pundits expected a close series in the AL Division Series. It turned out quite a bit different.


The New York Yankees swept aside the Toronto Blue Jays to advance to the League Championship Series, winning the final game by a 9-2 score at SkyDome.

The series MVP was left fielder David Justice, who hit .429 with a .400 on-base percentage. He had 2 home runs, drove in 6 RBI and scored 4 runs.

"We expected this series to go right down to the wire, so to sweep is a bit of a surprise," he said. "But we'll take it."

The New York Yankees don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Anaheim Angels - Detroit Tigers series. That series is tied at 1 game each. The League Championship Series schedule will be announced after the Division Series finishes.
