Anaheim Wins at Home to Take 2-1 Lead in DS
|
Despite a great performance by Detroit right fielder Bobby Abreu, the Anaheim Angels defeated the Tigers by the score of 6-5 at Edison International Field. Abreu was 3-3 with 3 singles and 2 walks, while scoring 2, but he could not prevent the Angels from moving one game closer to the League Championship Series. Anaheim now leads the Division Series 2-1.
Anaheim took a 6-5 lead in the bottom of the seventh inning, when Eric Chavez hit a clutch 3-run home run to bring Angels fans to their feet.
"You know, at the end of the day, it's about who scores the most runs," said Anaheim manager Tom Thompson.
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Edison International Field in Anaheim.
