Blue Jays Earn Late 4-3 Win
Jermaine Dye, who finished 4th in the AL in home runs with 46 in 2000, led Toronto to a win over Tampa Bay. The final score was 4-3. Dye collected 2 RBI, while going 3 for 3 at the plate. The first baseman also scored 2 times. Jason Marquis went 8 innings, allowing 3 runs on 7 hits. The right-hander, who finished 4th in the AL in ERA with 3.45 in 2000, struck out 7 and walked 1. With the win, he's now 10-9 this season. The save went to Darren Dreifort, his 4th this season.

Toronto took a 4-3 lead on Jonny Gomes's 14th double of the season. The run-scoring double, which Gomes hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Tampa Bay pitcher CC Sabathia visibly frustrated.

"I'm glad we can make our fans happy with a win," Dye told the Toronto Daily.

With the win, the Blue Jays sit at 59-49.
