Cubs Turn Back Montreal, 3-1
|
Starting pitcher Ken Hill gave the Chicago Cubs a rock-solid performance, helping his team defeat the Montreal Expos, 3-1, at Wrigley Field. In 7.1 innings, Hill surrendered 4 hits, while striking out 7 and walking 0. He allowed 1 run. With the win over Montreal, the Cubs improved to 58-49.
Kevin Millar helped his team take an early lead with a run-scoring single. It came in the first inning, making the score 1-0, Cubs.
"This level of focus will win us a lot of ballgames," Millar said after the game.
