5-Hit Game for Payton
Getting 5 hits in a game has always been memorable feat in baseball. In the Florida's 10-4 win over Colorado, left fielder Jay Payton was red-hot, scorching them for hit after hit at Pro Player Stadium.

"To hit the ball consistently well, you have to relax," Payton said afterward. "I was relaxed for the first four hits, but I have to admit, I got a little tight when I realized I had a chance for five. On the last at-bat, I was ready to swing at anything close."

Jay Payton singled in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 6th, hit a three-run double in the 7th and hit a three-run home run off Frank Seminara in the 8th.

Thus far in 1999, Payton is hitting .319 with 23 home runs, 89 RBIs, 81 runs scored and has compiled a .363 OBP.
