Marlins Keep Streak Alive with Late Rally
|
Florida catcher Matt Treanor was instrumental in helping the Marlins triumph, 6-4, over the San Francisco Giants. Treanor went 3 for 4 with 3 singles, while scoring 2. The loss makes San Francisco 51-63.
Had Sherman Obando not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 2nd and 3rd, Obando hit a 2-run single. That made the score 6-4, in favor of the Marlins.
"I like seeing our guys get a return on what they've put in," said Florida manager Chad Tackett.
