The Anaheim Angels had to overcome a big game from Detroit third baseman Carlos Lee to leave Edison International Field with a victory. And they did, winning, 7-5. Lee was 3-4 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 3. Anaheim occupies second place in the AL West Division at 70-55.

Sean Casey hit a 2-run double off Jay Witasick in the bottom of the eighth, which put the Angels in front, 5-4. In addition to the double, Casey had 2 singles, while going 3 for 4.

"You know, at the end of the day, it's about who scores the most runs," said Anaheim manager Tom Thompson.
