Marlins Use Late Score to Top Padres, 7-6
The Florida Marlins picked up a win at Pro Player Stadium, knocking off the San Diego Padres, 7-6. Starting pitcher Roy Halladay was a big reason why. The Marlins sit in second place in the NL East Division with a record of 71-65.

The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the ninth inning, when Florida left fielder Jay Payton, facing Jason Bere, had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It gave the Marlins the 7-6 win.

"It's great to get the crowd pumped up," Payton said.
