Cubs Use Late Score to Top Brewers, 4-3
|
Milwaukee center fielder Richard Hidalgo had a terrific game, but it still wasn't enough to get his team a win. Hidalgo went 1 for 3 with a home run and 2 walks. He drove in 3 runs and scored once, even as Chicago beat the Brewers, 4-3. The Cubs, now 13-22, know that wins in May count the same as wins in September.
Chicago got a clutch hit from Kevin Millar. The third baseman launched a solo home run in the bottom of the ninth inning to win the game. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a kill shot.
"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Millar told the Chicago Citizen.
