The Detroit Tigers had to overcome a big game from Chicago catcher Bobby Estalella to leave Wrigley Field with a victory. And they did, winning, 7-6. Estalella was 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. The defeat makes Chicago 21-35.

Rafael Furcal was 1-5 with a walk for Detroit. The former first round draft pick had a key at-bat in the top of the tenth. With two out and the bases loaded, he broke a 6-6 tie with a run-scoring walk off Grant Balfour. It was his 27th walk of the season.
