Phillies Trade Block

I did a full assessment of my team and the league this morning and I came to the conclusion that my position is untenable. I likely cannot win this season and I cannot re-sign all of the big names coming up for contract renewal. So, I am going to lose them. I am putting one name out there because I know it will net me a huge offer.

Derek Jeter (come on, Yankees)

But pretty much this entire list. I can only re-sign two of these guys. Looking for BIG prospect packages. Some of these guys are prime age hall of fame talent. It's going to take a big offer and at least one premier prospect.

I also wanted to note that I will be keeping at least one of the big three (Jeter, Chipper and Manny) and will not trade all 3 unless the offers are just insane and I can't pass them up. I can re-sign two of them (so I may keep 2) but I am definitely going to keep one. I have no preference on which one really, and will let the offers dictate it.

I probably like Chipper the least as a lifelong Phillies fan. For obvious reasons. I probably like Manny the most just because he was a lovable cornball. But when it comes down to it, I am fine building my team around any of them and have no preference on which one I keep.

So, let the offers commence and at least one will be moving teams, possibly two. Three is a stretch but if I get a megaload of prospects, I'll do it.
