Orioles Drop Rangers, 3-2
|
Baltimore Orioles starter Jim Abbott pitched his team past the Texas Rangers, 3-2. Cory Bailey closed the door for Baltimore, picking up his 12th save of the year. The third-place Orioles improved to 73-78.
Mark Bellhorn came through with a big-time hit for Baltimore. The second baseman smacked a solo home run in the top of the seventh inning to give his team the lead, 2-1. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.
"Felt great, felt really good," said Abbott.
