Blue Jays Rally to Beat Indians, 9-7
|
Willie Greene added some punch to the Toronto offense, helping them outmuscle the Cleveland Indians, 9-7. In the game, Greene was 3 for 5 with a triple and 2 singles, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3. David Weathers, who finished 3rd in the AL in saves with 39 in 1995, earned the save for Toronto. The 4th-place Indians have lost 4 consecutive games.
Eric Young came through with a big-time hit for Toronto. The second baseman smacked a 2-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to give his team the lead, 9-7. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.
"That's a solid team effort right there," said Young. "Everyone's feeling positive after that win."
