No matter what the Tampa Bay Devil Rays threw at him, Jeff Cirillo hit it. He easily handled Devil Rays pitching, going 5 for 6 and helping the Royals triumph, 12-7, at Tropicana Field.

"The way I was swinging, I think I could have closed my eyes and hit the ball," he told BNN reporters in the postgame interview.

Told of Cirillo's quip, Devil Rays skipper Jeff Starks said he "would take him up on that next time."

Jeff Cirillo singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, singled in the 6th, flied out in the 7th and singled in the 9th.

This year, Cirillo has hit at a .301 clip with 148 hits, 9 home runs, 57 RBIs and 77 runs scored.
