Both teams had their chances, but the Toronto Blue Jays eventually prevailed.
Toronto defeated Boston, 5-4, in large part due to 20-year old shortstop Jhonny Peralta. Peralta drove in 3 runs. The shortstop had 1 double and 1 home run for the Blue Jays. Boston drops to 8-11.
Peralta had a timely hit for Toronto in the top of the ninth. With Toronto trailing 4-3, he turned a 0-1 fastball into a 2-run home run. It was his 2nd home run of the season, making it 5-4, Toronto.
"This was a good win," said Peralta.
