Pitchers who faced the Modesto A's last week were happy to see Joey Gomes in the rear-view mirror. The 22-year-old left fielder was dubbed the California League Player of the Week for a 7-game tear that saw him hit at a .440 clip.
For the week he also chalked up 11 hits in 25 at-bats, 3 home runs, 11 RBIs and 6 runs scored.
